Cawley & Bergmann are threatening to tell my family about my debt. Is this even legal?

I’ve been dealing with relentless calls from Cawley & Bergmann and I honestly don't know what to do anymore. They call before 8 AM and after 9 PM, and the last person I spoke to threatened to contact my neighbors and family members to discuss my "financial situation" if I didn't pay up immediately.

I am humiliated and terrified. I live in a small community, and the thought of people finding out about my private business makes me physically sick. I can’t sleep and I jump every time the phone rings.

But I guess I just need to hear from real people. Has this happened to you? Did a lawyer actually help you stop it? I feel so alone in this and could really use some reassurance or a push in the right direction.
