Are They Manipulating Audiences on Purpose?

A lot of influencers use tactics that seem manipulative—fake scarcity (“only 3 left!”), emotional stories to drive sales, staged drama, or guilt-driven calls to action. Do you think influencers intentionally manipulate viewers to increase engagement and income?

Some argue this is just marketing, while others say it crosses ethical boundaries. Younger audiences may not realize when they’re being emotionally influenced into buying something or supporting a creator.

I’m curious what others think. Are influencers becoming too comfortable using psychological tactics to control audience behavior?
